LaunchNotes keeps every team member across your organization aligned with upcoming releases. In this article, we'll explain how to invite new users into your LaunchNotes account and ensure each has the correct permissions.
At a high level, there are four different LaunchNotes user types: Organization Admins, Project Admins, Project Contributors, and Project Stakeholders. For a detailed description of each user type, please see our article on User Roles & Permissions
Inviting users at the organization level
Organization Admins have the ability to invite additional Org Admins, as well as any Project Users. They can do this using the + Invite user button in the Organization Settings > Users tab, located on the left-hand navbar.
💡 Tip: On this page, Org Admins will also be able to see how many team members and internal followers there are associated with their account. They'll also be able to see the status of each user on the account.
When inviting a new user, Org Admins will be asked to set each user's organization and project permissions, as well as select which project they'd like to give that user access to (if the LaunchNotes account has multiple projects).
Inviting users at the project level
Project Admins have the ability to invite additional Project Admins, as well as other Project Collaborators or Project Stakeholders, to any LaunchNotes project they're an admin of. They can do this using the + Invite user button in the Project users tab, located on the left-hand navbar.
💡 Tip: On this page, Project Admins will also be able to see every Project User, as well as their status, their project role, and which categories each user is subscribed to.
Within the Project users tab, Project Admins can invite new users to that particular project by entering the email address(es) of anyone they'd like to five access to said project. When inviting a new user, Project Admins will be asked to set each user role within that project (Admin, Stakeholder, or Collaborator).
Alternatively, if a project admin is only interested in inviting other Project Stakeholders, they can also do this by creating a shareable link instead of email. Links are perfect for dropping into Slack channels are emailing out once via a Listserv.
Once invited, any invitee will receive an email from email@example.com with a link to accept the invitation.
💡 Tip: Sometimes invite emails get caught in spam filters, so if a user you've invited doesn't receive their invitation email, please have them double check their spam folder before sending a new invitation.
